2020 Obie Awards Pre-Show

Celia Rose Gooding with LaChanze, Saycon Sengbloh, and N'Kenge

We’re gearing up for the 2020 Virtual Obie Awards Premiere with two hours of star-studded pre-show parties featuring some very special guests!

Join us on Tuesday, July 14th for a LIVE sing-a-long of your favorite show tunes featuring Adam Michael Tilford and Kenney M. Green from Marie’s Crisis. Starting at 6pm, they will be joined in the first hour by Obie Award-Winner Saycon Sengbloh and Broadway Actress & Pop-Soul Sensation N’Kenge. Then in the 7pm hour, they’ll be joined by Tony and Obie Award-Winner LaChanze and her daughter, Celia Rose Gooding, star of Broadway’s Jagged Little Pill!

Our special guests will pop in to chat with guests and give special live performances. Anything can happen during this exclusive party and a recording of this footage will NEVER be released, so you’ll have to be in the Zoom where it happens!

For a donation of $50 you will gain access to one of the virtual events and be able to submit questions to the guest artists and song requests for Marie’s Crisis through the chat feature. Attend both parties for a special rate of $75!

A very limited number of “VIP Stage Seats” for each party are available for a donation of $250. Those guests will get to be on screen with Marie’s Crisis and the guest artists, pick a song for the sing-a-long, and participate live in the Q&A with the guest artists.

All proceeds from this special fundraiser will go toward the American Theatre Wing’s efforts to support and sustain the theatre community in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since March, the Wing has given nearly $500,000 in grants and scholarships to emerging artists, theatre and design students, as well as theatre companies and artists affected by theatre closures related to the coronavirus.
